How it Works. |

You decide on platinum, or the
carat of the gold for your wedding ring. |
9ct hard wearing, will
accept most patterns.
18ct Not so hard wearing, will
accept most patterns, but will cost more.
22ct this is a soft metal, will
only accept some of the patterns.
24ct Very soft, usually only sold
as a plain ring, will not have a hallmark.
Platinum, this is the hardest of all
the precious metals and is normally kept plain, but will last a
lifetime.

Nine Carat Gold (9ct 37.5% pure)
Eighteen Carat Gold (18ct 75.0% pure)
Twenty Two Carat Gold (22ct 91.6% pure)
Pure Gold (24ct 99.99% pure)
Platinum. (95.0% pure)

If you have a ring in
9ct gold and
then have one made exactly the same, shape, size and pattern in 18ct
gold, it will be 1.4 times as heavy. |
If you have a ring in
9ct gold and
then have one made exactly the same, shape, size and pattern in 22ct
gold, it will be 2.02 times as heavy. |
If you have a ring in
18ct gold and
then have one made exactly the same, shape, size and pattern in 22ct
gold, it will be 1.12 times as heavy. |
Make a ring in 22ct
gold and
then have one made exactly the same, shape, size and pattern in Fine
Gold it will be 1.08 times as heavy. |
If you have a ring in
22ct gold and
then have one made exactly the same, shape, size and pattern in Platinum
it will be 1.21 times as heavy |

How wide you make the Wedding ring
depends on size of your finger. Leave room for the Engagement ring
and in a few years, an Eternity ring. |
Some of the designs may not match a few of the widths. |
We can supply the wedding ring in a range of

from 2mm up to 12mm wide.
