1881 Kintaro Hattori ( Hattori inc make Seiko) opened a shop in Tokyo.

1907 Mr. H.N.Veals purchased the Jewellers of, Carvell + Binner.

1912 F.O.Read developed a radio-controlled clock. SS Titanic sinks.

1913 Hattori (manufacturers of Seiko) start production of watches, after 24 years of clock making.

C1915 HM armed forces discover that the wristwatch is acceptable, for MEN.

1916 On May 17th the UK government introduced the British Summertime act and we still have not had a good one.

1924 the brand Seiko is born, within a few years they produce over 1 million watches a year.

C1930 Self-winding watches produced in quantity by Switzerland.

1932 the gold standards of 15 and 12 carat are abolished and 14 carat introduced.

C1935 the speaking clock introduced. Dial 123 (at first you dialed T I M)

1945 British Standard 1283. Regulations on a standard ring gauge A to Z.

1949 the atomic clock developed. accurate to within a second in one million years.

1962 Chester assay Office closes. the last letter used was M

C1965 a new Quartz Watch cost about £2595.00

1975 the hallmarking act introduced in the U.K all assay office now start with the letter a.

1990 Messes Junghans produce the first radio-controlled watch, and we sell them.
